I have successfully installed Linux Mint XFCE on a 2010 MacBook and a 2012 MacBook Pro. I have been told before that Linux can be installed on an Apple machine but I am beginning to wonder if that ability might only be as a service under the Mac OS. So if I attempted to change the machine's OS to Linux Mint does that mean that I would be stuck with having to find and learn the MAC terminal commands to monitor and maintain the BIOS settings (since I assume the option of changing any of those settings would NOT be available within the Linux Mint OS) and would not even have the ability to enter bios command lines be lost by substituting Linux Mint for the Apple OS. basically command line/terminal maintenance only, other than the ability to change some/few BIOS settings from within the OS itself. That being that the BIOS on the Mac world machines has NO GUI for bios, i.e. I have been doing a bit of research and wondering if what I am finding is correct. The friend told me that after they got their data saved and transferred off of it, I could have the machine to attempt to put Linux Mint on it. First time I have ever even looked at one, have always been a member of the PC world. A friend was showing me their Apple MacBook Pro the other day.
